"Just dropping in to post that Friday's TVGuide - I didn't see it mentioned here - had a "Jeers" to NBC for their poor promotion and disrespect for the winding down of this great show."

Alas, the show is coming to an end. Sad as that is to some of us, I’d like to point out a few reasons why I believe that this show needs to.
1. for the past few years or so, the show has been running on the fumes left behind by Aaron Sorkin. As a result of this, I feel it has failed to live up to the standards of the first 3 seasons.
2. If this show would were possibly to continue on, and say Santos were elected, Josh would be there with is staff, but what about the rest of the West Wing crew. Sure, we'd get used to it and even get interested, but, the show would never, ever, be the same. And, on screen appearances, would hardly fill the void.
3. Reason three, happens to deal not with the show, but rather, the network that produces it. NBC. It's one thing to see viewers lose interest over the years, but, for the very network that produces it, to do the same, is an utter shame. I'm well aware of the fact that money and ratings is everything to a network, but for a show that has brought in so much for NBC, to not only move it but offer the least amount of advertising as possible is slap in the face to put it mildly.
4. Reason four, is perhaps more of a personal statement, in that, generally, sitcoms tend to end its run with a high-note, and, I feel that although we seem to be on the falling end of the show's 15 minutes of fame, ending the show here would allow its faithful fans to remember it as it should be, and rightfully move on.
