"It was that January morning, when NBC announced “The West Wing” was getting the axe. But Lily Tomlin, who plays Debbie Fiderer, President Bartlet’s private secretary, says the news wasn’t a shock.
“I found out last night, but I kind of expected it,” Tomlin says from her Los Angeles office. “With John Spencer’s death and the fact that we’re up against ‘Desperate House-wives’ on Sunday nights … I had a feeling.”"
