All 7 seasons. Now I have finished watching everything, I am so sad that it's all over. But I felt even more sad about John Spencer's death. It is kind of weird that I al living through all of this two years after it happened. But that is also the reason that I have the utmost respect for whoever created this website, with all the posts/interviews about John's death. It is a great tribute and I thank you for putting it up here. Must have been a lot of work. I just read it all. Thank you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14121130.post-39154764946493301382007-08-15T21:22:00.000-04:002007-08-15T21:22:00.000-04:00It's mind-blowing that after all this time, I stil...It's mind-blowing that after all this time, I still feel the void caused by John Spencer's passing. Not just because of the WW but because of the many more roles he will never get to play on stage or screen.

After a long wait, I purchaed WW Season 7 today, and part of the reason is that I had the vain hope of a re-release with a Spencer tribute. I stumbled on this page while trying to find an article explaining why that is. Maybe he didn't want it that way, maybe there was too much inside baseball at WB, who knows. Anyway, I echo the sentiment of all these compiled articles: that although many of us never met Spencer, he emulated a quality that makes you believe that the you and your world can be made better, conquering adversity is possible, and of course there was his wry "Noel Cowardesque" wit ;-).

He will continue to be missed by so many. One in a million.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14121130.post-1143494497265136872006-03-27T16:21:00.000-05:002006-03-27T16:21:00.000-05:00Just seeing the previews of next weeks episode - t...Just seeing the previews of next weeks episode - the beginning of the end for 'Leo' has made me sad again. It's going to be gut wrenching to watch. I feel silly having such strong feelings about this person I didn't know..but I do. I think of all the characters, his loss will likely have more impact than any. Just a few days before I had read a nice piece about him in People Magazine. Seeing the episode put me in a pensive mood, probably amplified by being a bit under the weather. When I got to feeling better, I jotted down some thoughts that were on my mind and sent them off to TWW. They aren't very profound but I thought they might be of some interest:

"We were all greatly saddened by the untimely death of John Spencer ("Leo"). That loss was just driven home again as I watched the episode entitled "Twenty Five" and realized how central John was to the show. The line "Leo will know what to do" was used several times. He was a father figure, and an anchor of stability for many episodes. I've seen him interviewed and the lines on his face, every word he uttered, reflected strong character. It was fitting that John was the first one cast for the show, as he was an actor of consummate skill. I understand that Stockard Channing was at the hospital visiting him when he died. We are sorry for all those who were close to John. He will be missed, not only on "The West Wing" and by its cast and crew, but also by the many who mourn the loss of an exceptionally fine human being."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14121130.post-1136714703161162642006-01-08T05:05:00.000-05:002006-01-08T05:05:00.000-05:00Well, I didn't post that I thought that, but quote...Well, I didn't post that I thought that, but quoted what the original article said. It would be more useful to point the mistake to the Detroit News ( http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051222/LIFESTYLE/512220393/1032/ENT)
I never claimed that there article was correct, I just posted what they reported. While I usually add a comment when I know a fact to be untrue (especially when it's "West Wing" related, I am usually not doing my own reporting but reprinting excerpts from other articles and I cannot always vouc h for their content. That's why I always name the source of my information - I clearly wrote that the Detroit News was reporting this information. Thanks however for pointing out the error (to me and to other readers). Readers are welcome to use the comments for that purpose. I would strongly suggest that you write to the Detroit News.newsjunkiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08029712139951253059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14121130.post-1136698268984416922006-01-08T00:31:00.000-05:002006-01-08T00:31:00.000-05:00When John Ritter died, they didn't kill his charac...When John Ritter died, they didn't kill his character off in a car crash.
