"Art imitates life? Buzz in the biz is that former ABC and NBC anchor Forrest Sawyer will play the moderator on West Wing's presidential debate between the candidates, Rep. Matt Santos (Jimmy Smits) and Sen. Arnold Vinick (Alan Alda).
The episode airs live Nov. 6.
Before joining NBC in '99, Sawyer was primary backup for anchor Ted Koppel on ABC's Nightline as well as other ABC broadcasts including World News Tonight and Good Morning America. He now runs a media company.
A West Wing rep couldn't be reached for comment."
